My thanks to all the Marines, indeed ALL the Veterans for their contribution to the great run we have had in the second half of the 20th Century. It's a new century with new challenges. Technology can help, but without the political will to fight a war without regular rules ....
I am astonished that the talk now centres on releasing the Guantana-mohs, or trying them in some Geneva compliant way. If you want the protection of the Geneva Conventions, you have to wear a uniform and be an identifiable service person of a sovereign government. Otherwise, nasty accidents do happen on the battlefield.
