Investment Diversification

Gold is generally considered a good hedge against inflation, and, in addition to bullion, krugerrands, Canadian Maple Leafs, and U.S. gold buffaloes, it's also available in the form of St. Louis police badges.

To his credit, Police Chief Isom is against the new gold badges, but it's indicative of a police force that is all wrapped in itself, and not its duty (i.e., they ordered the no-bid badges without authorization). And it looks like Isom is working around wearing a solid gold badge.

But this is the same police chief who discourages private firearm ownership. He offers other options, but none with the finality of a good weapon.

The only preferable option to owning a gun is owning two (or more).

I think ten is a good round number.

Someone in the comments for that article made a scary...and very possible...prediction. If rumour gets around that all StL cops wear solid gold badges....umm,watch your backs, guys.

I got a 404...

Or, as Dick Powell once said:
"The blackjack caught me right behind the ear. A black pool opened up at my feet and I dived on in. It had no bottom."
