Wildfire
Our prayers go out for those who have suffered so horribly as a result of the wildfires in Australia (some of which may stem from arson, apparently). Let's hope it rains soon.
It's pretty horrific. I live in Queensland (as does bloodnut) which is currently under flood for 62% of its area. A two hour flight south of here and we have the fires you're talking about. So this country which is the same size as the USA is suffering two climatic disasters simultaneously.
The official death toll in the fires right now is 135, but I have heard predictions of 200 plus.
To add another depressing note, we have our ABC doing interviews with 'scientists' saying that AGW is responsible for such events and that we can control the future if we reduce our emissions. What a load of wank and folly. Mehaul.
It's been full on. I've family down in country Vic but the old lady told me they're safe. Hey, anything positive, right. And whilst it's terrible, recently the death toll was revised down.
Spot did a pretty good rap up from Australia's finest, Blair and Bolt.

If the reports of arson are true and they catch the b&stards I'd vote for burning them as witches.
