Obama Says We Will Not Walk Away From Afghanistan

I hope this doesn't mean that what we'll actually be doing is running away, shirt-tails flapping in the breeze kicked up by our churning heels. Nothing in this statement would be inconsistent with Biden's notion of relying largely on air strikes (remember how well those worked during the Clinton administration?)

And this bit is priceless: "Obama's defense secretary, Robert Gates, appealed Monday for calm — and for time and privacy for the president to come to a decision." [italics mine]

So who's trespassing on his time? And don't they have security people to keep visitors from barging into the Oval Office?

Mr. President, we need someone who will lead, not reign.

Update: Robert Avrech lays out Obama's program for disaster in Afghanistan.

Barry will do whatever Michelle, Valerie, Rahm, Nancy, and Harry tell him to do. Well, maybe not Harry. But in that order.

The man who blew off every security briefing he was scheduled for during his campaign now needs time to think. I'm trying to thing what one of my tac officers would have said if I'd pulled that one during OCS or IOBC. LOSER!

O! needs time and privacy because he hates distractions from important tasks. Like flying to Copenhagen for a sit down with the IOC. Or eating his arugula salad.

Maybe O! needs another vacation, the poor widdle thing.

Perhaps the simplest way to put it is that this guy really sucks at being president. Apparently he thought all he had to do was walk onto the world stage like a movie star, and that all the problems would take care of themselves. Welcome to reality, Barry.

Not to worry.

I'm sure the Great and Powerful Ob will handle Afghanistan with the same professionalism, grace and insight he brought to bailing out the American auto industry.

We remember how Jimmy Carter started with a big toothy smile and wound up looking pretty shriveled in the space of four years. At least his wife was a lot more bearable.

Wasn't the Metrosexual Muagbe COMPLAINING about an airstrikes campaign during his candidacy?

The One has time for the Little Mermaid but not for the troops. He didn't need time and privacy to think about the latest junket. Never in our history has there been a request for privacy and time for the President to make a decision.

Obama...the boy who would be king.

Our guys are getting killed and he's having to think about the next move. Hey Junior! It's simple. Listen to the Generals! Surge!
