Vale, Mr. Brown. You've earned your rest.

What an incredible story, and what an incredible man. Puts one's own troubles in perspective.

Doc Brown is a testament to the human spirit. It was interesting reading the comment on the site that is from a young woman living in Bataan. The schools teach what happened. Too bad US schools don't do the same.

God rest Doc Brown. It is well deserved. His family should be proud.

OT: Congress is considering making military pensions into 401Ks instead of the current plan, in an effort to cut costs. Call the Armed Services Cmte and tell them "no". The folks in non-military jobs don't get shot at, aren't on-call 24/7, don't have to answer the door at 2:00am for a drill, etc. Honor the military, not degrade it.

Go with God, Mr. Brown - we are better for having had you here, and will seldom see your kind again.

BZ, Doc!

401Ks in lieu of military pensions might have worked out better financially in a good economy. These days, it's like throwing out a cement-filled life ring.
