Prayers requested

Mrs. Paco is undergoing surgery tomorrow to have a bad parathyroid gland removed, so your prayers for a successful outcome are fervently requested. It’s supposed to be a fairly simple procedure, and may have the upside of halting or even reversing her osteoporosis.

I may be offline for a day or so, but I will post one of my increasingly rare Paco library book reviews tomorrow morning.

And remember: if you can’t say anything nice about the Obama administration, then feel free to drop by the comments section and say it with gusto.

Don't worry, Paco. We'll take care of the place. It will be nothing like it was at Tim's. Right, guys? (wink, wink, nod, nod)

Prayers - and thoughts - on the way. One must be careful, for as the King said in Hamlet:
"My words fly up, my thoughts remain below. Words without thoughts never to heaven go."
Best wishes to you and the missus, Blogstrop.

Paco, I've seen a lot of people with parathyroid problems and I want to reiterate that it should be a very straightforward procedure. My very best wishes to you and Mrs. Paco.

I just sent God a DM on Twitter. I've done a few favors for him in the past, so I expect no problem with the favor I asked [remind me to tell you sometime about that explosion in Iran of that scientist yesterday - it's a hoot].

Somebody give me a hand with this keg. Shiner Bock OK?

Anybody check the basement for hidden doors and such? The entrance to the command bunker is supposed to be here someplace...

This is Paco's place, remember?

Look behind the bookcase.

there is a well hidden lever on the fireplace in the library, which opens one of the walls to the secret passageway to the underground stash of mead. don't ask me how i know and for pity sake do not tell him i know about it.

How are we supposed to have an open pit BBQ for the welcome home without an open pit. Shovels in the garage?

RebeccaH said...

Forget the shovels. Paco has a backhoe parked in the backyard shed.

Best of luck to Miz Paco on her operation.

Oh, dang! If I woulda known that all the rest of y'all was gonna have a BBQ/prayer meetin' fer Miz Paco, I'da took the fencewire down along one of the pastures, then told the neighbor that I hadda shoot some o' them big ol' tasty beefaloes fer trespassin'.

I am so very sorry that I was out workin' and got the word late. Um, y'all still need any beefalo steaks?

I have a feeling, though, that whoever digs a pit Miz Paco's lawn big enough to BBQ a beefalo on might be needin' a prayer meeting his ownself. Better dig it in a neighbor's yard. Preferably one of them Yankees what ain't got any guns. You'll be able to identify 'em by the Obama sign in their yard.

I've had 3 parathyroid glands removed (2 separate procedures.) Felt so much better afterward. I didn't know it was possible to go through life without being exhausted all the time. Procedure is easy... I was disappointed I didn't get to stay in the hospital longer. Tell her to milk it while she can.
