Things are looking up for white guys

In China.
Believe it or not, in China white guys can get a job posing as businessmen for companies who hire them to look more international to their real partners. It’s called “White Guy Window Dressing” and it’s apparently a very popular business tactic.
You need to be careful, though.
[Other gigs] pay over $1,000, but are also more dangerous, according to another white rental. The Beijing police knocked on his door after a company he had worked with for a couple of months swindled millions from its clients and told everyone he was in charge. The poor man couldn’t even remember the name of the company...

"Hi, I'm a corporate executive, but - let me make this clear - I'M DEFINITELY NOT IN CHARGE"

Sounds like my kind of job, except for the part about having to, you know, live in China.

And I don't look that good in a suit.

Hmmmmmm......Might be a great job for Obama come January 2013, although he may have to acknowledge his mother's side of the family.

And maybe he can charge extra for his "executive experience", although Obama is certainly fully qualified as an empty suit.

Plus, it's China! Communists everywhere, a win-win for hopefully soon-to-be ex-President Zero.

Is there any truth to the rumours connecting this scheme to a shadowy outfit known as Providers of Authentic Caucasian Operatives?

Could be, could be...

Please, Mr. Paco sir. Do NOT offer yourself as White Guy Window Dressing. I know you, with your sartorial elegance, would be a knockout for the Chinese oligarchs, but I beg you. Send John Kerry instead.

Rebecca: A solid choice! Practically an ambulatory mannequin.

I rest assured.

Deborah Leigh said... Please don't outsource yourself, Paco. You might save on terrific suits, but it is better to pay the American tailor than make Mabel nervous.

It really is a turnabout when men are now the window dressing.
