Secession, anyone?

Twenty states have petitioned for peaceful secession (Texas has collected more than 25,000 signatures).

I think I'd like to be an admiral in the Arizona Navy.

Petitioning for secession? No. You just tell them that you're the Republic of Texas. And thanks for the military bases.

Texas even has its own electrical grid, separate from the rest of the union.

If California and Massachusetts seceded (taking Chicago and Detroit with 'em), the rest of the country would probably be just fine.

Spiny, don't forget Washington, DC.

All together now, "The moon at night is big and bright,
deep in the heart of Texas."
