Happy Feet Friday

From 1939, Earl "Fatha" Hines and the Grand Terrace Orchestra perform one of my all time hot and wide-open swing instrumentals, Father Steps In.

I'm hearing the great sax. Can't find any listing of the band except that all the greats seem to have played with Hines, and Parker and Gillespie got their start with him. This was the B Side, the A Side was a foxtrot!:

Budd Johnson and Leroy Harris on saxes?

The first sax solo just knocks me out.

Good figuring! I have a cd with this tune, and according to the liner notes, the tenor saxes were Budd Johnson and Robert Crowder (Leroy Harris on alto sax).
