We are experiencing technical difficulties
I was just going through my spam comments to delete them when I noticed that comments from some of the regulars were getting caught up (i.e., were not published). I have no idea why this is happening, but I have now "de-spammed" the comments. My apologies to Deborah and Steve at the Pub (whose comment on the Springfield M1A and the M14 was very interesting and helpful).

Paco, no worries. POS technology is equality in action. I have intermittent mystery problems posting from my phone. Luckily, you have the crack team to get right on that.

And I agree with Steve's comments. I don't know if the M1A barrel is heavier or not, but the rest is true. The first time I handled a Garand, I recognized the mechanism.
And, yes, the M1A magazine is much better than the M1 clip. If naught else, the risk of an "M1 thumb" is eliminated.
