Maybe I'm not getting this. Somebody help me, please. The AIP denounced segregation, and therefore, George Wallace. Their new platform is the Constitution and lowering taxes. So isn't the bigger story that these folks signed up for a right-wing party?

Yes, but the historical antecendents enhance the amusement factor.
Must be something in the water there that makes so many Californians into idiots.
